Breastfeeding Hawaii Board Members

Le'a Minton, MSN, APRN, CNM, IBCLC

Currently serves as the Board President and interim Treasurer of Breastfeeding Hawai'i. Since 2012 she has participated through the organization in community events such as Children & Youth Day and Baby Expo, and assisted with professional development conferences focusing on breast milk in the NICU, tongue-ties and workshops for breastfeeding success. As a core member of the Breastfeeding Committee of the Hawai'i Maternal Infant Health Collaborative, Leʻa is involved in an accelerated project process, known as SMALLIFY, with outcome goals of a: a) statewide breastfeeding strategic plan, and b) breastfeeding passport to document the woman and infant’s nursing journey. She was selected as a Fellow in the Sigma Theta Tau - Johnson & Johnson Maternal Child Health Nurse Leadership Academy, which serves to help Breastfeeding Hawai'i’s success in opening a donor human milk bank in the future. Leʻa is a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives, both national and state; Midwives Alliance of Hawai'i; and Sigma Theta Tau - Gamma Psi Hawai'i chapter.

Sally Greene, MS, IBCLC

Has been involved with Breastfeeding Hawai'i since 2010 and currently serves as the Vice President. She earned her Master's degree in Human Nutrition from Michigan State University in 2008 and had two articles published in Breastfeeding Medicine, the official journal of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine. That same year she started working as a WIC Nutrition Assistant for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and serves as the clinic Breastfeeding Coordinator. In 2011 Sally was certified as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant and became a member of the United States Lactation Consultant Association in 2015

Jane Gallagher Felix, MSN, APRN, WHNP-C, IBCLC

Has been on the board of Breastfeeding Hawai'i since 2010 and served as the secretary since that time. She earned her Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa in 1993. She practices as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan. Jane has been certified by the National Certification Corporation (NCC) and the International Lactation Consultants Association (ILCA). She is a member of the Hawai'i Nurses’ Association, the National Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH),  and the United States Lactation Consultants Association {USLCA).

Pat Bilyk, MPH, MSN, RN, IBCLC

Has been a registered nurse since 1969 (graduating from University of Michigan) and APRN (Maternal-Child) since 1976 (graduating from University of Hawaii). She obtained her IBCLC in 1989. She has practiced as a Lactation Consultant in Hawaii hospitals such as Kaiser Medical Center and Kapiolani Women’s and Children’s Medical Center-first LC in Hawaii, at Hawaii Mother's Milk and in her own private practice Breastfeeding Consultants of Hawaii. Presently she is retired from active lactation consultant practice.
Pat was instrumental in beginning the Breastfeeding Promotion Council of Hawaii in 1990 and serving as its president. Eventually that organization became Breastfeeding Hawaii where she continued in the president role helping the organization become a 501c3 organization. Now she serves in a Board Member Emeritus role. She has also been instrumental in the creation and passage of 3 major breastfeeding laws in Hawaii-Breastfeeding in Public, Working and Breastfeeding and Exemption from Jury Duty. Pat is a member of ILCA and USLCA, serving on the Reimbursement and Licensure Committee since 2015. She is a Friend of the US Breastfeeding Committee

Kami Lizares, BSN, RN

Recently joined the Breastfeeding Hawai'i board. She has been actively involved with community breastfeeding groups since 2013. Presently she works as a lactation consultant at Hawai'i Mother’s Milk. Along with her 10 years of personal breastfeeding experience she is excited to promote breastfeeding education and awareness. She is a member of ILCA and USLCA.
